The lead up to Christmas can often feel like chaos. Between juggling orders, updating listings, chasing artwork and keeping social media active, there’s barely time to think, let alone plan. But what if you could get a little help? 

What is ChatGPT and how can it help? 

ChatGPT is an AI chat service that can generate a whole host of things such as answers to questions, content writing or even imagery and voice conversations. It can’t wrap or deliver parcels. No. If it did, I’m sure we would all know about it by now.

That said, it can do a surprising amount behind the scenes, especially for print resellers or small businesses. From writing emails to planning upcoming campaigns, ChatGPT serves as a free and accessible tool that can make your festive season both smoother and easier. 

1. Write customer emails that feel personal 

Whether you’re informing clients about last posting dates, holiday discounts or new festive offerings, ChatGPT can help you write clear, tailored messages in moments. 

Try this prompt: “Write a short, personable email for my print customers to let them know our last Christmas order date and encourage them to order early. Keep the tone warm and professional.” 

You can alter the tone and format for all your audiences too, whether B2B resellers or small independent stores. 

2. Research and connect with local businesses 

If you’re looking to grow your customer base, ChatGPT can help you identify local opportunities. Ask it to brainstorm partners or client types based on your niche. 

Try this prompt: “Give me a list of ten local business types that typically need printed materials near Christmas. Consider restaurants, boutiques and event organisers.” 

With this list, you can follow up with tailored print samples or catalogues, serving as something tangible that helps convert interest into sales. 

3. Generate social media ideas (fast)

Need to post on social but can’t think of what to say? Ask ChatGPT to brainstorm caption ideas or campaign hooks around your seasonal products. 

Try this prompt: “Write five short Instagram post captions promoting festive print materials like Christmas menus, posters and gift tags. Keep the tone cheerful and authentic.” 

You can even ask it to help plan a posting calendar or come up with ways to tie your offers into trending seasonal topics. 

4. Create copy that sells your print work
