What is Print Sorcery? | The Craft and Expertise Behind Perfect Print
WTTB has been making print simple for a decade, but with the ever-changing landscape of the industry, simple just isn't enough anymore. Gone are the days of "good enough" and "it'll do the job". WTTB has always stood out because behind the scenes, our work has been guided by craft, care, and decades of know-how. Now, it’s time to bring that expertise into the open.
If you've ever had a print job just work? You know, sharp colours, paper weight just right, finishes that add the perfect touch? That small, satisfying moment when everything comes together and it almost feels… new. Bold. Exciting. Magic.
At WTTB, that feeling isn't luck, it's Print Sorcery. The quiet, careful expertise that has always been part of how we make print simple, now shared in full view.
The Magic of Print Sorcery: How Craft and Expertise Create Quality
Print Sorcery isn’t a feature or a plug-in. It’s a mindset; the meeting point between design and production where craft, care and technology align.
Print Sorcery means:
- Spotting small file issues before they become reprints
- Matching the right paper stock to the right project
- Knowing when a matt lamination beats a gloss one
- Ensuring every print feels as good as it looks
Print Sorcery is the human side of print. Our mix of knowledge, instinct and attention to detail. It's the print expertise that turns a digital design into a tangible piece that feels premium in hand.
Behind every smooth job is someone who's sweated the details, so our customers don't have to. What looks like magic is years of craft and knowledge, shared, written down, and put to work at the start of every job. That magic is our people. Louise Stephenson, Managing Director
Bringing Craft to the Forefront
This year, we rebuilt our website with that philosophy in mind. To make the craft that's always powered WTTB visible and accessible from the start. Product pages are now written in plain English, helping you compare stocks, finishes and options without the jargon. Guidance appears where you need it, so you can make confident decisions without second-guessing. The goal isn't to add complexity, but to make good decisions easy, and to share the "why" behind every "what".
One of the first real tests of this approach came from our Canva customers. Chris and our pre-flight team saw more Canva-designed files coming through. While a fantastic tool for accessibility, Canva isn’t always designed for print precision. Files were missing bleed, colours were off and layouts shifted from screen to press. These weren’t big mistakes, but they were the kind that can derail a job and delay production.
So, we built the Canva Hub, a resource packed with:
- Optimised Canva templates for specific products
- Simple print guides and checklists for print setup
- Practical tips to help you get it right first time
We have to stop assuming customers know what we know. It isn't their job to 'speak print'; it's ours to share the craft and guide them. Emma Thompson, Marketing Director
What This Means for You
Print Sorcery is our commitment to sharing the craft that has powered WTTB for years. Over the coming months, you'll see more of it across our site: expert print advice, case studies, video walkthroughs and step-by-step tutorials that demystify print and make quality simple.
Our aim?:
- Fewer reprints
- Fewer file errors
- Fewer surprises
Because when expertise meets accessibility, results feel effortless; and that is the magic of Print Sorcery.
