Roller Banner Artwork Guide

Roller Banner Artwork Guide

Sizes, Bleed and File Setup Explained

Sizes, Bleed and File Setup Explained

Roller banners are a versatile and high-impact display solution. To ensure your design looks professional when extended, you must account for the mechanical requirements of the banner base and select the correct width for your space.

Available Banner Widths

While all our standard roller banners stand 2000mm high, we offer a variety of widths and hardware grades to suit different environments.

  • 800mm: Available in Budget and Classic models.
  • 850mm: Available in Budget, Classic, Premium, Heavy Duty, and PVC-Free models.
  • 1000mm: Available in Budget, Classic, Heavy Duty, and PVC-Free models.
  • 1200mm: Available in our Classic model.
  • 1500mm: Available in our Classic model.

Understanding the Non-Print Area

The most critical part of roller banner setup is the bottom of the graphic. Although the visible height is 2 metres, the physical material is longer to allow for fixing to the internal spring-loaded roller.

The Bottom Margin: Our templates include a shaded "Non-Print Area" at the bottom. This section of the material stays inside the base stand to secure the graphic.

The Safe Area: Ensure all vital information—such as phone numbers, web addresses, and logos—is kept well above this shaded area.

The Risk: If you place text in the non-print area, it will remain hidden inside the metal base once the banner is raised for display.

Professional Design Tips

Eye-Level Impact: Place your primary message and logo in the top third of the banner for maximum visibility in crowded rooms.

Bleed: Just like small-format print, ensure your background image extends to the very edge of the template to avoid white borders.

Resolution: Because banners are large, ensure your images are high-resolution (at least 300dpi at full size) to avoid pixelation.
