Is Dibond better than Foamex for signage?

What thickness is Dibond® for signs?
Dibond® is most commonly used at 3mm thickness for signage, offering a strong, rigid panel that remains lightweight and easy to install.
Can Dibond® be cut to shape or drilled?
Yes, Dibond® can be customised with square corners, rounded corners, or cut to shape. You can have up to 5 designs cut per sheet, or more than 5 designs if needed.
Drill holes can be added in the top two corners, all four corners, or none, depending on your installation requirements.
Can Dibond signs be fixed to a wall or stand?
Yes, Dibond® signs can be mounted using screws, stand-offs, adhesives, or display stands, depending on the installation surface and requirements.

Dibond® is a rigid aluminium composite panel made from a three-layer structure, combining a solid polyethylene (PE) core with two 0.3 mm aluminium outer layers, finished with a stove-lacquered polyester coating. This construction creates a lightweight yet highly durable board that stays perfectly flat, with a smooth surface designed to deliver consistent, high-quality print results for signage and display applications.
Weatherproof, UV-resistant and temperature stable. Dibond® is suitable for long-term outdoor use (5+ years), resisting moisture, corrosion, and extreme temperatures from -50°C to +80°C.
Recyclable. Dibond® is fully recyclable, with aluminium and core materials able to be separated through specialist recycling processes.
Safety options available. Fire-retardant versions (e.g. Dibond® FR) meet Class B s1, d0 fire safety standards where required.

Dibond® signage is great when you need a rigid, premium sign with a long-term indoor or outdoor performance and a professional finish. If you need a flexible banner material instead, PVC banners or PVC-Free Banners may be more suitable. For temporary signage, lighter substrates may also be worth considering.
