Small Format Material - Multiloft

What is MultiLoft card used for?

MultiLoft is used for premium business cards, luxury invitations, and high impact print where thickness and feel are key to the overall impression.

How thick is MultiLoft card compared to standard card?

MultiLoft is significantly thicker than standard card because it is made by bonding two sheets together, creating a much heavier and more rigid final piece.

What is the coloured edge on MultiLoft cards?

The coloured edge is a middle layer placed between the two sheets, which becomes visible along the sides of the card and adds contrast and a premium design feature.

What centre colours are available for MultiLoft cards?

MultiLoft cards can include a coloured inner layer that is visible along the edge of the card. Available centre colours include black, blue, green, orange, pastel green, pastel pink, pink, purple, red, turquoise, white, and yellow.

Can MultiLoft be printed on both sides?

Yes. Each side is printed separately before bonding, so both sides can have high quality print.

Is MultiLoft the same as laminated card?

No. MultiLoft is made by bonding two sheets together, while laminated cards use a plastic film. This gives MultiLoft a cleaner, solid edge rather than a sealed glossy edge.

Can MultiLoft delaminate or come apart?

No. The sheets are permanently bonded under pressure, so the card remains solid and does not separate.

Is MultiLoft recyclable?

Due to its bonded construction, it may not be suitable for standard paper recycling, so disposal depends on local recycling facilities.

Will MultiLoft cards bend easily?

No. MultiLoft is designed to be rigid with minimal flex, giving it a strong and durable feel.

MultiLoft™ is a popular ultra-thick, premium card, ideal for luxury business cards and high-impact print.

What is MultiLoft™ Paper?

MultiLoft is a printed card system made by combining multiple paper layers into a single, ultra thick sheet. Each outer sheet is printed separately, then assembled back to back with coloured inserts placed between them. Once pressed under high pressure, the layers bond together to create a rigid, premium card with a clean edge and substantial weight.

What is MultiLoft™ Paper made of?

MultiLoft is made from high quality paper sheets with a pressure sensitive cohesive layer on the reverse. These sheets are combined with insert layers, which also feature cohesive on both sides. When pressed together, the layers form a bonded structure, creating cards with significant weight and durability, with the option of a coloured inner layer between the two sheets.

Environmental & Material Considerations

Layered paper construction. MultiLoft™ is made by bonding multiple paper layers together to create a thick, rigid card structure.

Recycling considerations. Due to its bonded, multi layer construction, it may not always be suitable for standard paper recycling streams.

Local disposal guidance. Recycling and disposal options can vary, so it is recommended to check with local facilities for appropriate handling.

Are there alternatives to MultiLoft™ Paper?

MultiLoft is designed to achieve a level of thickness and rigidity that standard card stocks cannot replicate, so there is no direct like for like alternative. It is specifically produced by bonding two sheets together to create its distinctive weight and feel. If you are looking for a simpler option, heavier single sheet card stocks can provide a sturdy feel, but they will not deliver the same thickness, edge detail, or layered construction as MultiLoft.
