Understanding Standard Paper Sizes for Print

Choosing the correct paper size is the first step in any print project. Below are the dimensions for standard "A" sizes and common commercial formats, including the necessary 3mm bleed on all edges required for professional printing.

Small Format Sizes (A6 to Business Cards)

These sizes are ideal for handouts, postcards, and compact marketing materials.

Business Cards: 85 x 55mm (91 x 61mm incl. bleed)

A6 (Postcard): 105 x 148mm (111 x 154mm incl. bleed)

DL (Compliment Slip): 99 x 210mm (105 x 216mm incl. bleed)

Medium Format Sizes (A5 to A3)

The industry standard for flyers, brochures, and standard office documents.

A5: 148 x 210mm (154 x 216mm incl. bleed)

A4: 210 x 297mm (216 x 303mm incl. bleed)

A3: 297 x 420mm (303 x 426mm incl. bleed)

Large Format Sizes (A2 to A0)

Used primarily for posters, signage, and technical drawings.

A2: 420 x 594mm (426 x 600mm incl. bleed)

A1: 594 x 841mm (600 x 847mm incl. bleed)

A0: 841 x 1189mm (847 x 1195mm incl. bleed)
